Monitoring Audio between Mac Pro and Mixer

    Hello all,

What is the best way to use a Berhinger Mixer with UAC 202 interface ?
What I like to do is be able to monitor the XLR and audio from MAC Pro (connected to USB Interface for mixer) using only one headset. Right now I have the main mix going out from mixer into the input of the USB input of the interface. The the output of the USB interface going back into one of the line channels of the mixer. I been told that this is A bad way of doing this since it will create a loop. What other way is there? If you send the output of the USB interface to speakers and you have headphones on this will not work. Also won't the audio from the studio speakers on desk spill back into the Mic?

Any thoughts on this workflow would be greatly appreciated.

I confess to not fully understanding your question, but why not plug your headphones into the UCA-202?
Please direct all questions for me to the forum so that all can benefit.

Mike, thanks for your response. The problem I have is I have the original U-Control interface which does not have the headphone jack. This is why I have to take the output from the interface back into the mixer. I will probably upgrade to the UCA-202.
