    What Mic Are You Using?

Im new to Internet Broadcasting and I am wondering what microphones people are using. I am currently using a Creative Labs Fatal1ty Gaming Headset and it works great for just talking to people on Skype. So what microphone are you using?

Hi Jake welcome to the IAIB Forum,

It comes down to a budget. If you are looking to get started with a good mic that that has USB and the option to use XLR later down the road go with the ATR2005

How much of a budget are you working with?

Hello Andrew thanks for the warm welcome to the IAIB. My current budget is around $50, The ATR2005 looks great but it seems a little cheap for a good microphone. What are peoples experiences with it?

Hey Jake welcome to the IAIB, I have the ATR2100 which is very close to the ATR2005 and the microphone is amazing. You should really check it out.

Read Mike Phillips reviews of the ATR2100 here http://www.scoop.it/t/audio-equipment-and-techniques-for-webcasters-and-podcasters and do a search of this forum. Almost unviersaly you will find people are very happy with both the ATR2100 and ATR2005. There is also a Samson mike which seems to be a clone. I have a ATR2100 which I use in both the studio and the field and find it excellent for both
