    You need the horsepower of the i7 to keep everything smooth. Oh BTW no less than 16GB of RAM for your build as well.

    To add to some of the suggestions people have made I would incorporate more then one computer to do some of the work. We have a Switcher that uses Vidiblaster and a hackintosh that does the encoding Via Wirecast
