I'm looking to replace my current Broadcast Machine (Core 2 Duo, 4GB, Win 7x64) with something much faster that can handle things the current system cannot (BM Intensity Pro Cards). So far I've been looking at mostly at i3 and i5 machines (mainly due to price) and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for ideal specs for a PC, or maybe even an already built machine that can handle the following:
1 or 2 BM Intensity Pro Cards
High Quaility Video Streaming (Possibly to multiple providers)
Run Wirecast Smoothly
Possible use of Live Virtual Sets
My price range is about $500-1k (Cheaper is always better) and I'm open to any suggestions!
--On a side note, I've looked at the BM ATEM, but there's some critical features in WC I need--
Do consider building a Hackintosh. If you're going to go build a soft switcher than OS X is the way to go. CoreMedia and Quicktime are killer for this stuff. Check out tonymacx86.com
To add to some of the suggestions people have made I would incorporate more then one computer to do some of the work. We have a Switcher that uses Vidiblaster and a hackintosh that does the encoding Via Wirecast
