    Growing your audience

Its the one question I've still not gotten to grips with. Any ideas are very welcome.

That;s great question. I think its a combination of things. Maybe some of our members can explain how they grow their audience

Few things that obviously help :

    1. Being active on Social Networking sites
    2. Network with other Podcasters/Internet Broadcasters. Yes making friends helps
    3. Creating interesting Content

    What do you guy

Content is key. Certain level of entertainment helps too.

    1. Make great content
    2. Determine who is listening (via email, voicemail, and your gut).
    3. Figure out where you audience is.
    4. Go there.
    5. Make friends with them. Do not skip this step.
    6. Tell them about your podcast.

If you're looking for the "How do I get 400 new listeners next week" answer, I'm sorry that is not the norm. If you deliver content that people HAVE to tell their friends about, its more likely to happen. Also make sure you're providing the best quality (audio, video) you can (and avoid free services).

Dave is right on this. It has to be between doing good shows and connecting with the right groups. Maybe if you do a show about a TV show or a specific topic you can make friends with other people with the same interests. Facebook groups and forums are a good place to start. make sure not to spam
