    Question Behringer One-Knob Compressor

Just wondering if anyone has used the one-knob compressors found on Behringer's XENYX USB line? I've seen videos on YouTube of people reviewing the mixers or Behringer salesmen showing them off, but I haven't heard an actual demo of it. I did read in another forum that it was pretty good for what it was. Obviously, its not going to compare to stand alone compressor units.

So, for those with a Beringer mixer, do you use it? Does it suck? Is it good? Or........

It doesn't work or sound well. They're better than nothing, but they're easy to overuse. Just barely "tickle" them. Otherwise, you'll increase your background noise significantly. Any compressor in a noisy studio should be accompanied with a gate. The only gate I've heard so far that I like is the dbx 286a or 286s. Soon I will have a test of the dbx 1074 quad gate. There's a possibility that it will work as well as the 286 gate.
