Help with New Video Input Card Selection

Ok i want to buy a video card that will handle three cameras and i am looking at the Osprey 460e. Now how about the issue with Simulstream. To have it yes or no. $500.00 adder. Ouch....

I think for those of us who do not have a complete grasp of computers and all these new fangled devices that the toughest thing is to understand specifications and what they mean. Its really worse that figuring out car engines in litres or CI's.

I have read all the BM and Viewcast stuff on their site and this site and others and would like to get a suggestion from you folks on what card to buy.

My use is for sporting events, soccer, baseball and field hockey. Junior and high school.

Here is my question. Suggestions on buying one card with those 4 inputs and do i need Simulstream? Leaving myself without a backup. Do you folks have a backup for your video card and how many of you stream to different sites at the same time?

    Thanks again,

    William

    Hey Washproof,

Thanks for responding. This is going into a pc and i have 1 pci, 2 pcie x1, 1pcie x16. All could be available. But i dont know about a duo video card? Viewcast has a refurbished 440 four input for 500 bucks. no simulstream but the price is pretty good. I bought an osprey 100 refurbished and its great.

    Thanks again

    Bill

Have been using a 4 port card I found on eBay for $25.00 for the last three years, but it only works under 32bit.

The TW-100-4 card works like a charm in Win7 64bit and VidBlaster !!!

The TW-100-4 is $139.00, I have no idea about the Decklink cards, but I heard they are real expensive :-)
