LOL. My recommendation is actually the DBX 286s. They're $200US each, and you need one per microphone. They have the best sounding gates on the market, at least for the price. If you feel you have to add boom and sizzle, the dynamic EQ on the unit works well.

Processing on the program feed, if any, needs to be very minimal. The selection of a program processor is a different matter. I'm not familiar with an inexpensive unit that does a good job. I have the Omnia A/XE software that may be ideal since it has a multiband processor, but it remains to be seen how much demand it puts on the processor already running Vidblaster or Wirecast.
