I host my podcast on my WordPress site. Here's the free and easiest way to do it.

Create an account at Internet Archive. It can be found at Archive.org.

Archive.org is the best site on the planet for hosting. There's no limit. And it's completely free! If you do your podcast as one whole show or in segments, you can actually group the segments under the same listing. Just make sure you have everything done the right way, because once you post, your posting is there. They don't delete things.

Here's an example of one of the shows I do posted on Internet Archive.

The Duster and Tex Show #22

They have a built in player. Keywords. And Media Format links!

So how do you incorporate this into Wordpress?

Once you have the audio hosted somewhere, getting it into Wordpress is easy.

Create your page. Then click on the HTML tab. Once you are looking at the HTML, all you have to do is type in

    [audio URLtoAudioLink]

Grabbing the link is easy. On the Internet Archive page for your audio, just right click on the MP3 link, click Copy Link Location, and paste the link after the "[audio " marker. Close your bracket and when you view your page, the Wordpress built in player will display.

    Check the final product.

The Duster and Tex Show #22 on Wordpress.

I always give a link people can click on to download the show as well because I've had some Apple users complain that their iPad or iPhone won't display the player. But that's the only complaint I've had so far.

BatDoc thanks for the information. I was wondering if the Internet Archive would I be able to see how many people download and statistics stuff like that? For now, what I have been doing is posting my audio and now screencasts on Ustream.

Yes, Internet Archive gives you stats on how many people download your podcast.
