1080p video with Wirecast

Great question, Yes I can.... We are using a Sony NEX with a telephoto Lens and a Sony NXcam. For this event we were just at a table out in the open, (Thank goodness it did not rain that day!) with less than 24 hours notice...

There were times when both myself and my camera operator went out to the cameras leaving us with out a producer, we fixed this with the Paladin Link and Paladin Producer iPad app and I was able to change my shots no matter where I needed to be. So we are using both, WiFi for the iPad and Wired for the stream

I noticed a few companies like BoilerRoom and MixMag are using DSLR/Mirrorless cameras too.

We are about to build out a new Production machine. the current one we have was built in 2011 and has done very well but we are starting to notice some issues. We can do 1080 video without the CPU maxing out . 720p is no issue but we do at times have some dropped frames.

Have you thought about a 6 core i7 or 8 or more Xeon cores?

Consider the number of uncompressed 1080 cameras.
Consider if you use wireless cameras the H.264 decoding from those sources need more resources than uncompressed sources.

Recently one Wirecast user informed me they were able to use a JVC HM200 wifi feature to send to Wirecast Pro Webstream plugin. That means one might be use a good "prosumer" camera to wonder around an event space without having to use a Teradek Cube. The decoding would like use more resources than using an HDMI into card though.

Hey Craig so the new production machine is built but for some reason I am having a horrible time with 1080 with wirecast.

Specs for the production Machine

Intel i7 Haswell-E 6core
16 gigs ddr4 ram
Asus x-99 Deluxe Motherboard
AMD R9-280 GPU
AJA Kona 4 SDI capture card

For the Camera we have 2 Canon HF G20's

When I set it to 1080p there is a ghosting effect happening with my video. Any suggestions ?

Can you provide a short example of the ghosting?
Are all your sources 1080p30 (29.97) and Wirecast Preferences set to 30fps and encoder set to 30fps?
Kona driver current?
Can you check the Kona in a different app to see if it's Wirecast specific?
