Should you record your Podcast in seasons?

I was giving this idea some thought. Do you guys think its a good idea to record a podcast in seasons.

Lets come up with some pros and cons regarding this idea. I feel that this is going to start becoming a trend with podcasts. 12 -24 weeks per season. The time off might be good for some podcasters.

Scott Johnson and Tom Merritt did AutoPilot in seasons - usually 10 to 13 episodes. I remember their last season had a very successful Patreon campaign.

I haven't heard if they plan to continue the show or not, however.
