Lightbulb Lawo Crystal Clear Virtual Mixing Console

I was watching the last episode of This week in Radio tech and Kirk had on someone from a company called Lawo. Lawo makes Virtual Mixers/consoles for radio stations. This thing is really cool. Totally customizable and you no longer need a lot of hardware. Everything is on on the computer.

Has anyone here had any experience with it? Do you guys think this is the future of mixers and consoles? For those wondering here is a link to the episode http://www.gfqnetwork.com/shows/this...-dosch-6-5-14/

I think it is the future. The main reason why it should be is because of the cost savings and being able to use it virtually. Any idea what the cost is?

I think that the development of haptic technology would make touch screen based mixers much more palatable, but if the auto-mix feature actually works as advertised…Then I think we have a game changer!

I haven't liked the digital interface on most offerings but this one is very clean and appears to have changed my mind.

Time will tell. You can already use an iPad as a control surface for a number of digital mixers. Lots of engineers who prefer knobs use the iPad connectivity, but they don't get the real feel of mixing. If your setup is "set and forget", this system could be quite handy.

It looks great and the fact that its totally customizable is wonderful but the issue I have with it is the lack of physical faders. How do you know your touching the right fader if you cant feel it? Most of the time im not looking at the fader when im potting it down or up
    you best get steppin
