Qik shutting down April 30, 2014

They claim the features are now rolled into Skype. I don't see that at all.
I used to use Qik to send smartphone cameras into Original Livestream Studio for remote reporting. Qik had webpages and embed links. Skype is entirely different.

MakeTV seems to be a viable alternative but their free service is limited to only 30 minutes a day.

At one time they were the only good game in town for mobile streaming. I believe they were first on iPhone as well and it was great that you could link Qik account to Original Livestream.

I don't see how they can say the features are now part of Skype. It's like saying my landline is like a radio transmitter. Just because you can speak to someone doesn't give them that much in common.
