    Andrew,

I'm trying to setup a show that will utilize multiple cameras as well as cameras cut from another city. Is it possible to get a live HD quality video like you for your show? Where can I learn to get the kind of video and sound quality you have

    YouTube's own live streaming recommendations
    https://support.google.com/youtube/a...3713&ctx=topic

    for 720 it's 1500 minimum, 2500 recommended, 4000 max.

Do realize contend is a determining factor. Fast action sport requires higher and talking heads lower. Basically encoders work best on pixel to pixel changes in and between frames. Fast action (and dissolves too) have lots of change from frame to frame so they need more bits.

H.264 codec x264 tends to handle lower bit rates better than MainConcept's H.264 so that's a factor as well.

Yes its possible. We have many shows on GFQ that are from remote studios in different states. Spencer does his show from his LA studio and sends 720p video VIA skype.
Feel free to ask any questions you have here

Andrew are any of your shows live? I have been doing interviews via skype for what was an audio only podcast. Depending on who I am talking to its always spotty and it goes in and out. I'm never impressed with the sound quality definitely not able to make it sound like its in the same room. I didnt know skype did that high quality video everytime we make a call its usually some really grainy video I get from people. I use a Alesis Multimix 8 right now USB. 4 mic. I want to build a studio with 3 cameras stationary on people and one roaming one inside of a room that can be on a long cord not necessarily wireless. I want to be able to switch between cameras live but send out one stream.

All of our shows are live. The quality of Skype will depend on the hardware and internet connection you have. If you want to do HD Skype calls you should at least have 5mbps upload for Skype. As far as a video/audio solution Skype has the best quality. Google hangouts is close but the audio is not great.

If you want an example of a great Skype connection check out the Bald Truth. The entire show is sent to us Via Skype

Remember this video is compressed for the podcast. the original quality is much higher

The telephone calls are through a Telos digital hybrid with VOIP phone lines. They also take calls on Skype.
Please direct all questions for me to the forum so that all can benefit.
