    Proper Microphone Technique

Question for all the Pros out there. What is the proper way to use a microphone. I read an article yesterday that was so off the mark.

    This is the article http://blog.signalleaf.com/blog/2013...mike-and-mike/

I wouldn't say everything was off the mark but there are many things not put into consideration. To say "eat the mic" is a good technique would be false.

Microphones are not designed to be spoken into that closely. you should be 3-6 inches away from a microphone if you are speaking at a normal tone. Anything more or less will drastically effect the overall quality. We have to remember that many of these people doing radio shows do not really understand how the equipment works.
