We're currently evaluating several different platforms as well as a variety of different hardware / software switchers, etc.. We have been in discussions with a company in Atlanta that will match Livestream's monthly fee. They also have relationships with Roku and others for distribution, so........we'll see. Livestream has been quite stable, as has Vidblaster.
If you get a chance, try YouTube Live. It is free.

Tybee, there are three things you might want to consider. We're not critical here - we're trying to be helpful.

    1. Since you're not committed to streaming software yet, be sure to evaluate Wirecast before you buy Vidblaster.
    2. You're apparently not licensed to play the music in your stream. That can get you into big trouble. If you are, ignore this comment.
    3. It appears that the image on your web page is not your staff. If it is a Getty's image, you could get a cease and desist letter at any time. It can be an expensive proposition. See http://goo.gl/jzzKJd.

On a more positive note, your stream sounds great. What is your setup?
Please direct all questions for me to the forum so that all can benefit.

Hello......please be advised that none of your comments were taken in any way other than you intended. As to the points mentioned.

#1. We have used Wirecast, approx. 2 years ago. Liked it but not sold on it. Maybe some things have changed over the last couple of years so perhaps we might take another look. Vidblaster has been very stable and easy to use. There are limitations as with any hardware or software packages. We really like Newtek products as well as some of the switchers made by Roland.

#2. First, all of the music in our playlist rotation....let me repeat...ALL of the music featured in our playlist rotation has been directly supplied to us either by the Label and/or by the Artist for promotional consideration. We go out of our way to NOT play any RIAA associated music in any of our streams. We were at one time covered by a blanket license via Live 365 but are no longer associated with them. Funny thing, our founder knows many of the Artists personally (and has produced a number of them) whose work is represented here and none of them ever received any royalty payments for Airplay from our Live 365 streams (and we had quite a number of them). All of the music here is from Independent Labels and Independent Artists who have sent promotional products to us for Airplay consideration.

#3. You are correct as to our staff. The picture was provided to us by our site host when they first built out our site and as far as we knew we were able to use it. That said, the picture has been removed as of this writing.

And lastly.....#4. Thank you. We're glad you like it!! Our founder has 40+ years experience in the entertainment business. Musician, Sales, Marketing, Domestic and International Distribution, Executive Management positions, Production i.e. Records (remember those), Producer and Executive Producer credits, Local and Syndicated Radio Production, Distribution and Programming, Artist Development, Contracts and associated negotiations, and the list goes on..... Collectively, there are several hundred years of combined entertainment business experience within the executive management team of the company.

We (our founder and an outside software/programming partner) developed and wrote our own automation software program for audio and video content distribution. We will be using this automation software to rerun previous live programs currently in development and scheduled for broadcast early first quarter 2014.The software give us the ability to program a full weeks worth of audio and/or video programming (if necessary or desired) and deliver it to the data center with the closest geographic location to any given viewer. In regards to "setup", various consoles and audio processing hardware and software are used at our production studios. Neve consoles are our preferred choice. As in studio recording, audio is mixed to perform well on the smallest common denominator. If quality of sound can be attained to sound great on a simple speaker system, then that sound will only get better with more expensive gear and/or on whatever system used to reproduce it.

Our founder started experimenting with streaming audio as early as 1999. This was in a time when it would take 10 minutes or more to upload a 3 minute song via a dial up connection. You can probably remember those days as well.

This project, Tybee Television Network, has come to fruition through at least a half dozen different business models and names, having been in the conception, development, planning, funding, build out, hiring, trial and error, etc. stage for more than five years so it is impossible to give you our full business model in this forum. We have received advice, encouragement and support from a variety of talented individuals, computer programmers and developers, business advisers, media buyers, musicians, institutions, specifically Georgia Tech and their Enterprise Innovation Institute, as well as governmental agencies such as the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The audio portion currently being streamed is quite literally the tip of the iceberg, a filler if you will, for lack of a better description at this time. We have over a dozen original, live programs currently in development which will be rolling out early first quarter 2014. Again, quite literally, thousands of hours have been devoted to this project over the last 5 years, not to mention the capital investment. Just a little FYI here in regards to upcoming original programming. We have just hired a Member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame to host one of our new original programs. This particular individual has worked in the Radio business for over 40 years, in many Major Markets across the country during his career in radio. Additionally, he spent 14 years as a National Marketing Director for a Major Label with a common household name. A Press Release will be forthcoming.

Being just an Intern here assigned to monitor Social Media and related activity and to provide information, I have been advised that should you have the time and/or interest to find out more about our upcoming plans and initiatives, to please contact us via our website utilizing the "Contact Us" form and we will arrange a phone call or a meeting.

    and......oh yes.....Happy New Year!

    Best Regards,

    TTN Team

Thanks for the suggestion! We hooked up with YouTube (under a different brand) a while back but got distracted down another avenue. We need to hire at least another dozen people to explore all the possibilities. Old school broadcasters that are unwilling or unable to adapt probably don't think so but, we live in extraordinary times!!!!!

As a matter of full disclosure, we have a lot of "old school broadcasters" around here. Fortunately, they were willing and able to adapt!!!!!
