    Wirecast & Video Cards

I know I need to eventually get a new computer for my video work.

Does Wirecast benefit from a video card with its own memory?! My 3D graphics software (Poser & DAZ Studio) use the graphics card to present live preview of our art as we work.

In my experience, I'm always better off buying the most powerful computer I can afford. Would a 27" i5 iMac be sufficient? How much memory should I get? Would an i7 CPU be better?!

i7 would be better. Heck I've seen Wirecast chew through multi core Xeons.
It depends what you throw out it. If you're going to use four 1080p sources you're going to want a Quad i7 at least.
Wirecast uses the GPU as well and works better with independent GPUs than integrated. Although the new Iris and Iris Pro might fair better than previous generations.

Thanks for the clarification. I'd be much happier with an i7 and independent GPU.
