    Low audio for recording podcast

    Hi guys. I am having an issue with my recording level. When i record my podcast the audio is low but if i raise it anymore then it is , well then it gets distorted. Is there anything I can do

    Few questions. what type of microphone and mixer are you using. How are you connecting it to the computer?

    Most mixers have well written procedures on how to set levels. If you're clipping and the audio is still too low, you're clipping earlier in the circuit than at the input to the recorder.

    I am using a Mackie pro fx8 with a ATR 2100.

    Page 3 of the manual tells you how to set the input gain. That is step 1. How is your recorder connected? Are you using the Tape output to record or recording from the Main Out?
