Making money from Affiliate programs on podcasts

Does anyone here use affiliates for their podcast? How has it been for you? I know many people are doing amazon now and wanted to see what type of results you are getting? How can someone grow earnings with it

I use Amazon on the site along with some other affiliates and Amazon has worked the best. There needs to be a lot of cultivation to get people to click links. People need to know that their purchases help keep the lights on so to speak. If you do reviews or talk about products that people can purchase then Amazon is the best recommendation but again it requires cultivation and constant content to get people engaged to where they'll click a link or a pop up. As always results may vary.

In my book More Podcast Money. I talk about how 30% of my income from podcasting comes from affiliate marketing. The key is finding the right products for your audience. I promoted Total Gym to my health related audience for a year. I made $75 in a year (they are hundreds of dollars). I later found a deck of cards that allowed you to deal yourself a workout. The cards were $15. I made $1.50 on each sale. I had a fairly strong run of month after month of making three figure sales.

Try to find products you use. Products that fit your audience (and their budget), and that you can honestly recommend. You may not be able to retire, but you should be able to pay for gas.

At GFQ we have had a lot of success with the Amazon affiliate program. I always tell people its a great idea when starting out in podcasting. you can generate some income to support the hobby and get practice doing ads during your show. the delivery of the live read goes a long way

I know a few people making a pretty penny with Godaddy. Maybe some of you can give us a list of the best affiliates to sign up for?
