I just checked out the latest version of Zoom.US and really liked it. Here are some screen shots from the test we did earlier. A feature that Internet Broadcasters will find handy is the auto switching Zoom.us does for you. You can also full screen the video and let it switch all on its own.
Thanks for doing this test. There is no question that Zoom.us has some potential to pickup where Skype and Google Hangouts may not be the best fit. In the end, it does look like, as long as they stick with it, they can become a serious competitor to Skype. Maybe not overnight but Skype has been with us for years and has the benefit of time to get more polished. It of course is not perfect, but for what is around, it does work best for most Internet Broadcasters.
The audio is really good. the only downside I saw is the video quality. They are not doing HD yet. If they add HD it would be a great replacement for skype if you want to bring in multiple guests on your show (If you are trying to save money)
EDIT: Seems like they do HD. If thats the case I couldnt see a difference between SD and HD. I would love to get the specs for what they consider "HD"
I been using Zoom.us for over an year for all my shows on our network. I am very happy with using it. The only thing I would change is that in the Standard View Grid. We could pin all videos to stay in the same location in the window. I understand getting another monitor but it would be nice to have the feature. I capture each video in Wirecast and the only time I have a problem. Is when someone is added to the meeting or leaves the meeting. Also, as soon as I switched over to Zoom.us. The guys that come on the network with a weak internet don't have the problems like we had with Skype.
