I've been carefully looking at the Steinberg UR28M Audio Interface and the sound quality is amazing. Now, I'm trying to get my mind set. I was looking at buying a mixer around $400. This pre-amp interface device is similarly priced and I'm thinking with all the I/O options and the Cube software I could skip the mixer.

It looks to me like one heck of a sound card with alot of flexibility. I've been taking a run at the youtube videos and I'm not finding anything that helpful as far as podcasting. There appear to be alot of live small performers that really have good things to say about it.

There is also a video on the above linked page you can view.

If this puppy will work in podcast environment it may take me into a new century. Yes, there will be wires out the back of the unit, but nothing on the top and the unit is attractive and reasonable size. I also really like the small size, because I can use it at remote sites easily with my laptop.

I'm not trying selling anyone on this. Just trying to encourage some feedback, because I am seriously thinking of buying one.

I'd appreciate to read any feedback on UR28M, especially if you have experience with it or the UR824

Also, I'm new to podcasting. Maybe there are some older more involved forums I should look into. I would appreciate any links.
