1.) Amazon S3
The benefits have been outlined before. They have a great track record (with one major blemish when they were exposed a few years ago) are cheap and have taken the load off of my local server.
2.) Web Synthesis (http://websynthesis.com/)
They host wordpress sites. They are built for security and speed and they have done quite well for us as we are wordpress based. A tad pricey at around $100/month but have been worth it. I have used 2 other server hosts in the past and one I would never use again (VPN.net) and the other I would recommend if you needed your own server (viviotech.net).
I use a Dreamhost shared hosting plan and haven't had any problems with the amount of traffic we get. I do use S3 as a backup for hosting if we need to use it.
I've started to see a lot of folks using Archive.org to actually host their audio/video files. How easy/hard is that to setup? Folks still having issues with bandwidth/speeds of downloads there?
