Best time for a live show

    Hi everyone...

What is the best time for a live show? I do some live and some pre-produced shows. The one live show I do will get over 10,000 Youtube views or Downloads within about a week. I also get 10 or more emails a day from viewers of the show. But I am having an issue getting any live interaction in the chat room.

The show is about making things with small processors like the Arduino and Raspberry Pi. So I do it live every Tuesday evening at 7 EST thinking that most people that would be interested are hobbyists and would watch when they are home.

So I am just curious what everyone has found is the best time to get an angaged live audience.

I have asked this question many times. I think 6-8pm ET would be a sweet spot. A

Some of the bigger internet shows that i know of broadcast during the day. Twit for example has a peak audience at around 2pm ET. have you considered broadcasting at that hour?

I have to agree with Andrew, I think 6-8pm EST is a great time to do a show.

I guess I could do a strawpole of the viewers to see what time they would want to watch.

A large problem I have seen is West Coast people broadcasting shows at around 9 or 10pm EST. thats really late and your audience will be much smaller then it can be. There is a reason why the entire world runs on EST

It really comes down to your audience. If they are tuning in at 11pm thats great. If you are getting 30 people tuning in... It might be time to consider a new time.

I broadcast live at 11pm ET for a few reasons. The main reason being my schedule makes it impossible to broadcast earlier. I also have strong language in my broadcast so I like being outside of the "family" hour so 11pm is attractive. I will say that at times I've wanted to test that waters earlier but I'd have to change the air date. My three hour broadcast would kill me in an earlier slot.
