Is there anything like that out there. Like can i connect a few mics and other devices to a sound card or interface and use software to control everything.

Yes Andrew. I bought it a while ago. So far I haven't played with it too much but is is VERY powerful allowing you to bring in audio from your sound cards and also your computer. It also is a multi-track recorder and has comprehensive inbuilt controls. Have a look at the the you tube archive.
