Where do your podcast listeners come from?

i have just gotten into podcasting and was wondering where the best place is to get listeners? where do they come from and how do they discover you?

Mine come from iTunes and more recently I am having luck with YouTube. I drop a link in the description and of course in the video. Added 1000 listeners to one of my shows recently!!

Here is how you grow your audience.

1. Make content worth telling others about.
2. Take time to get to know your audience. You do this by answering email, voicemail, comments.
3. Now that you understand who your audience is, go to where they are.
4. Make friends with these people - do not skip this step
5. Tell them about your podcast

When I had a podcast about music marketing I would go to "jam nights" (where musicians hung out) and make friends and then hand them a business card with my website address. The bottom line is your grow your audience 1 person at a time.

You found a great source in Youtube (another one is your email signature or forum signatures (if permitted). I'm working on a book that focuses on different idea people are using to promote their podcasts.
