I have been browsing this site for some time now and it seems like most people over the past few years have been suggesting the ATR 2100 as the go to mic. Is this still true in 2015?

Microphone tech doesn't really change. the same microphones that were good 25 years ago are still considered good microphones.
The ATR 2100 and AT2005 are both great microphones
