I found that I had a massive improvement on my gain through the use of a Fethead. i am using the Heil Pr40 and i have found in the past that you end up having to raise the gain on the mixer to get it to the right level. The consequence of this is raising the noise floor. However with the Fethead I get extra gain and now my podcast sounds great.

Don't have one but I have considered it and the Cloudlifter. They are both reportedly effective and I remain tempted. I know of the technical differences but the Cloudlifter is easier to find here in the States.
