Morning Al,
I'm looking to have a variation of the 'sound-construction' desk (sans the boxes) illustrated in your third link. I already have their IsoBox Post and those guys do quality work! Pricy stuff for sure, so you have to really want it unless you like Spam meat and crackers until it's paid off. :(
One of the most genius movies I've ever heard from was from Max Flight of Airplane geeks who uses an ironing board and he has strapped the mixer and such to the board. This allows him to stand up when he records, and if needed he could fold up the whole thing and put it in a closet.
I recall seeing the photo of that ironing board set up and it's quite ingenious for very limited locations. Heck, it even allows you to lower it or raise it to suit your needs. Not quite something I would use, but it works, and that's all that matters I suppose.
Love to see a pic of that. Being an engineer at heart its always fun to see how necessity is the mother of invention.
I am looking for a new office desk. I didnt know that glass was a no no. Anyone here use a glass desk? how is it effecting ur quality?
Not me, but I understand why it's not a good idea. I'd imagine a glass surface would bounce your voice off like a trampoline.
