I noticed a trend of new podcasts coming out that are 15-30 min long. I was wondering if thats the right format for what we are doing? how long do you guys think is long enough?

Thats interesting. I have also noticed that there seems to be a trend with shorter shows. I think it all comes down to viewership. If its working for you then its great. I personally like doing 1 -2 hour shows.

I'ma fan of the one to two hour shows... it all depends on your topic and your audience.

My shows are usually between 30 to an hour. But it really depends on the topic you are covering.

Size really doesn't matter.

Personally I think this all depends on your content and how interesting you are. If you are trying to do a 2 hour show, but only really have 30 minutes of content that you are trying to stretch to fill the 2 hours, then you really shouldn't be doing a 2 hour show. I have a short attention span so I tune out pretty easily. If you have more than 5 minutes of stretching/filler, I'm not going to continue listening.

If you are entertaining and can engage your audience then go for a two hour show. Not everyone is going to like what you do so you need to work with what you are happy with. Then your loyal listeners will understand. I like to call my fans Blasians lol. I listen to them but also make my own judgements as well.
