New Livestream now has Free Producer accounts.

Good News
No Ads apparently.

Bad News
Viewers must login to watch live streams in free accounts.
Event only archived for one month before being deleted.

Various
Still tied to their software/hardware (can't use Adobe FMLE for example).
Not only no embedding but I've heard no embedding will come for basic paid Producer accounts either. Apparently you'll need a Premium account for embedding.
Event based rather than 24/7 channel based

Seems very limited to me.

People see Free No Ads and that's a very big carrot for some. I think that's what they're banking on.

More details. Original service continues. But you'll note it's nearly impossible to find/discover shows.
VOD only embedding for free and $45/mo tier.
Monetization also by paying to have your event promoted to other registered members (hence the bait into registering to view free account streams).

I've been a fan of Livestream since it was Mogulous, but unfortunately a mixture of poor pricing and restrictive setups have pushed me away. Ustream is still a far larger platform and Veetle offers vastly superior quality for broadcasters.

It seems like the pricing structure is what really hurts them.
