Hey guys, I've been looking around on line, and I want to get a Heil Pr40 (just as another mic to have). I saw a large price range going from $275.00 up to about $320.00. Does anyone know where to get this product for the best price? Let me know thanks!

Quite often you can find a used one for $200 or less. The $275 price for a new one is very good.

Just bought 5 Pr40's myself, paid right around 280, if you can find it under $300 snatch it up ASAP, you won't regret it.

Are you looking for just the mic, or do you need the shock mount, pop filter, stand, etc. I'm a resller, and can you get in that ballpark,

you can generally find them on Ebay. Second hand is not a bad idea if you know what to look for.

What is the lowest that someone has bought a PR 40 here?

Michael Manna bought one for $150. I bought one for $200, including the $100 shock mount.

I found on on criagslist a few months back and they wanted 120 for it. Picked it up and its nearly brand new.

Not sure. Could have been craigslist.

You can't beat craigslist for buy or sell. If you live in large metro area there is constant flow of good items. I like because I just drive over with cash and talk with seller. Often, you can get seller to reduce price when you are person to person.

Ignore the price when you see it. When you get a response from seller you ask back, if he/she will consider an offer. If so you can get to a sales price you might like. As long as you haven't taken your time or created any expense you have nothing to lose by trying. If you don't like the price, and the seller is stubborn about the price when you visit you are generally better off not to take it any further. Also...if the seller won't talk to you on the phone, forget it.

If you don't live in large metro area you just have to follow craigslist on a daily basis and be patient. Patient, because it may be several weeks before what you want shows up.

I recently saw a "New" pr40 on Craigslist go for around 140 bucks... I think we will see more and more of these mics on the market for very inexpensive prices due to people podfadding :)

podfadding... Now I like that one! Actually, the phenomenon is quite accurate and is one of the reasons why I'm taking so much time in choosing my gear.

Currently, there isn't anything I've purchased that I can't use 'generically' here on my Mac. I use Dragon Dictate extensively as well as Skype, so my RE20, boom arm, and USB interface will still be useful if I happen to lose the fizz.
