I will be conducting interviews for my job and they will be done at a local fair. I was wondering what Microphone some of you experts recommend for outdoor recording. also what type of device could I use for recording outside?

I HIGHLY recommend the Zoom H4n. http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/h4n/

It records direct to SD card, has two XLR inputs and has mic adjustments to widen or close your mics pickup range. I have used it a couple of times in a noisy place and it cuts down the noise a lot.

I have heard great things about the Zoom mics. If you are talking about a handheld mic then I would suggest the Shure Sm58

Ugh. The ATR2100 is better and cheaper. But that also assumes you don't want an omni (Electro-Voice RE50) or a high quality cardioid (Sennheiser MD46.)
