That's going to be tough.... I switched off that to a hosted solution for that very same reason. I guess it hasn't changed

have you considered using wordpress.org with a hosting account? Podcasting is simple with add ons like powerpress.

Powerpress is an amazing plugin. There are endless supplies of options and is really great. You should give it a try!!

I am currently hosting my files with Spreaker. This is due to the fact it is free and I don't have the money to buy a place to host it. What would you recommend?

Andrewzarian. Thanks for your advice. I have considered that but right now I do not have the funding to be able to do that. I have been hosting my files with Spreaker. I was considering to start a YouTube page in order to become a partner over time and use the funds to be able to buy a website domain and space for my files.

Nothing wrong with using a free service. You gotta start somewhere. Personally I prefer to host my own files. The main reason being that I have total control over the file since not every service allows you to easily upload/replace a file with a new one.

Looking at Spreaker's help section (http://www.spreaker.com/cms/help-share-and-download), it looks like you can simply embed their player using an iframe. This should work perfectly fine with Wordpress.com. Because you are embedding an iframe, the flash player is actually hosted by Spreaker and shouldn't conflict with Wordpress.com.

To get an audio player you can just use a simple HTML5 audio tag with the files location. If you don't care about a player just put it as a link and feed burner or the rss feed that the site generates will pick it up.

If you want to see how it looks check out one of my podcasts that I host on Blogger. Top of the side bar has 3 HTML5 audio players.

Here is a like to the code

I host my podcast on my WordPress site. Here's the free and easiest way to do it.

Create an account at Internet Archive. It can be found at Archive.org (http://archive.org/).

Archive.org is the best site on the planet for hosting. There's no limit. And it's completely free! If you do your podcast as one whole show or in segments, you can actually group the segments under the same listing. Just make sure you have everything done the right way, because once you post, your posting is there. They don't delete things.

Here's an example of one of the shows I do posted on Internet Archive.

The Duster and Tex Show #22 (http://archive.org/details/TheDusterAndTexShow22)

They have a built in player. Keywords. And Media Format links!

So how do you incorporate this into Wordpress?

Once you have the audio hosted somewhere, getting it into Wordpress is easy.

Create your page. Then click on the HTML tab. Once you are looking at the HTML, all you have to do is type in

[audio URLtoAudioLink]

Grabbing the link is easy. On the Internet Archive page for your audio, just right click on the MP3 link, click Copy Link Location, and paste the link after the "[audio " marker. Close your bracket and when you view your page, the Wordpress built in player will display.

Check the final product.

The Duster and Tex Show #22 on Wordpress. (http://batdoc.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/the-duster-n-tex-show-podcast-episode-22-120703/)

I always give a link people can click on to download the show as well because I've had some Apple users complain that their iPad or iPhone won't display the player. But that's the only complaint I've had so far.

BatDoc thanks for the information. I was wondering if the Internet Archive would I be able to see how many people download and statistics stuff like that? For now, what I have been doing is posting my audio and now screencasts on Ustream.

Yes, Internet Archive gives you stats on how many people download your podcast.

Are they any other places besides Internet Archive?
