I am in the process of switching out my sound card.

The quality of a Behringer UCA202 will far exceed anything that Mixlr can reproduce. Don't let the price and the name fool you. If you have a PCI slot (not PCIe), you have some other options.

If you need to send analog audio into a computer sound card, a balanced input is the way to go. That's the way professionals do it. However, those sound cards start at about $600. You will not be able to hear a difference on Mixlr between a $30 UCA202 and a $600 sound card or the Alesis built-in USB sound card.

The choice of desktop sound cards has greatly diminished with the introduction of PCIe, which also coincides with the dramatic increase in the use of laptops. I still use a Delta 1010LT PCI card with my Lenovo Windows 7 computers, but the days for being able to use PCI sound cards are numbered. It's possible the Delta drivers are not compatible with Windows 10. None of us has been willing to take the leap to test yet. If they are not compatible, these computers will be on Windows 7 for a long, long time.

I was against going with USB for a long time until Mike suggested the 202. Its as good if not better than any PCI-E sound card I have used.
