Hi James,

Please allow members time to respond to your posts. We are currently building the website.

It depends on how much money you want to spend. The best advice I can give you is to start small. there are some great affordable Mixers, Mics and Webcams you can start with.

BSW Has some really cool Podcasting Kits. Everything you need is included

Also Currently the best Webcam on the market is the Logitech C920

I don't know if the sale is still going on but Office Depot had (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/lifecam-cinema/H5D-00001) the Microsoft LifeCam for sale for 19.99 (original price 79.99). It is an in store deal only. I bought mine two days ago. If you are reading this call them and check if it's still on sale.

As far as the rest of the equipment, personally, I wouldn't be super concerned with it. You can podcast with anything really. You just have to make sure you have content that people are willing to listen to and want to hear. Your podcast can't sound like crap but you don't want to go out and buy the most expensive things just to have no one listen to you. I would say look to spend less than $100 on your set up. That includes a decent mic and a camera. Definitely check out USB mics on Amazon.

I would disagree about the C920 being the best on the market, the older C910 to me has much better image quality.

Personally, I would start out small. Until you know your serious enough to do this a long time then add equipment as you need it.

It kind of depends on how you are podcasting (are you going to podcast alone?). Will be podcasting from the same place? How often will you podcast? How long do you plan on your shows being?

If got a list of my podcasting equipment recommendations at my site. (http://www.schoolofpodcasting.com/equipment)
