A suspiciously well-timed announcement from Sprint could help put those big, beautiful new iPhone 6s (http://gizmodo.com/tag/iphone-6) in more pockets: Their "iPhone for Life (http://www.sprint.com/landings/iphone/index.html)" plan will upgrade your phone every two years, plus give you unlimited data, starting at $70 per month. And I assume this deal is valid FOR LIFE.

For a 16 GB iPhone 6, that $70 each month includes the cost of the data ($50) plus the phone price ($20), which Sprint claims will save you $575 over two years compared to their regular two-year contract. Essentially, you're renting the phone instead of buying it outright.

Other carriers announced deals today as well. Verizon will give you a $200 gift card (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/device/smartphone/iphone)—which you can use to buy the lowest-priced $199 iPhone 6—if you trade in your old phone and sign up for a two-year contract. Also hoping to cash in on those old phones is T-Mobile, which is promising to match any trade-in values (http://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news/t-mobile-guarantees-industrys-best-trade-in.htm). And of course you still might be able to coerce your friends into joining T-Mobile (http://gizmodo.com/you-can-get-free-unlimited-data-if-you-convert-friends-1625048349) in exchange for free data. Whatever you choose, you have a few days to decide: Pre-orders start September 12 at 12:01 a.m. [Bloomberg (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-09-09/sprint-s-iphone-for-life-plan-lets-users-upgrade-every-2-years.html)]
