My school purchased a Tricaster 40 for our broadcast that is done every day. We have an iMac that has a mini display output. The Tricaster 40 has component inputs that we would like to use for the iMac. My plan is to get a mini display port to HDMI adapter (http://www.amazon.com/PNY-A-DM-HD-W01-Mini-DisplayPort-Adapter/dp/B007B6YPAM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406673194&sr=8-1&keywords=mini+displayport+to+hdmi&dpPl=1?tag=radar0bf-20) and then get a HDMI to Component Converter (http://www.amazon.com/Kanex-Pro-Component-Converter-HDRGBRL/dp/B00BW0XXZ6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406673248&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi+to+component+converter&dpPl=1?tag=radar0bf-20) to feed it into the Tricaster. I know the Tricaster has net inputs but we are looking to hardwire it and save the net inputs for things to be done on the fly. Any other ideas on how to get this done?

I am not sure if this will help or not.

(There's also a 64bit Windows version)

Like I said we are looking to hardwire the computer not use the network. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nick I think you are doing it right. the Mini Display to HDMI will work great.

I do some consulting work for my former High School and we use that exact method. We go HDMI out of one of our PCs into a HDMI to Component converter, and then into the TC 40 unit. One thing to keep in mind is the resolution, the TriCaster is very finicky with input resolutions. I've only had luck with 1280x720 exactly on the PC side. Quality is as good as it gets for component, and frame rate is much better than iVGA.
