Looks like a great camera for the money.
IMO, a Leica lens is a super plus
It may be in the $600-700 price range when the discounters get it.
Sure looks like a lot of camera for that price range.

Lumix as I understand is a consumer grade product line.
I have owned a small Lumix camera for family photos and such.
It was very reliable camera, just had an unreliable owner who left it on restaurant table.

It appears to have a full featured video tool set.
One thing I would look for is manual very close tolerance adjustments for focus, aperture and zoom.
Auto application of these tools would be fine, if you can over-ride them.

I agree about the focus points you made. It would be nice to have focus presets for a shot (focus marks coinciding with acting position marks)
