I have an AMD Phenom II X6 (6 Cores) with 8GB of RAM and a pretty high end graphics card. When streaming games the CPU basically runs at 100%. Does anyone know how the i7 does in similar situations. I am thinking of swapping out my motherboard and CPU to get an Intel.

For non-gaming streaming I have no problem with my setup at all.

So, am I going to the PC parts store, or what?

Hey Eric. Few quesitons :

What resolution and frame rate are you streaming at. Are you also recording the feed.

I have been using 864x480 and the one right below it (forgot the exact resolution). I can't check the frame rate right now as I am at the day job, but it's probably on the high side.

Yes, I am recording as well. I have thought of capturing the signal on another machine or stand alone DVR type box, though. I do

realize that I am asking the machine to do a lot with streaming, recording, and playing a modern game.

PS. I just did a fresh reinstall of Vidblaster as well.

The I7 will give you much better performance then the AMD 6 cores. You should be able to do 4 cameras, Record and stream with the i7
