Four XLR inputs, 4 HDMI inputs, USB out... onboard Video switcher with chromakey...! If this has been available when i was first looking I may have gone this route. For about 2 grand it seems like a great fit for podcasters doing video. Especially if you are mostly doing it solo.

When I initially saw this I was excited, except for a few things.

-The price! 2195$ USD!?!
200
-480p/576p?
-USB 2.0?

Al, I agree with you on wanting a small portable device like this. :) This would be a dream machine if it had higher video resolutions, USB 3 and if it had a lower price.

What do they mean by the red line below? Are they upscaling from 480p? Very deceptive marketing...I could actually live with USB 2.0 but he scaling would be an issue.

The Roland VR-3EX is the next generation 4-channel SD performance mixer which features HDMI inputs/outputs, USB streaming, HDCP support, built-in touch multi-viewer, an audio mixer all in a compact portable unit.Designed to be a live production switcher thebuilt-in audio mixer with up to 4 frames delay to “lipsync” your video source. Scaling on the output allows you to output up to 1080p HD Video and Audio quality.

I'm not sure actually. My guess, 480p/576p up-scaled to 1080p. I'm not sure why they have 480p/576p? This would be such a great product if they didn't have those kinks.

There is a company I am doing research on and they can easily output 720p via USB 2. If they had USB3, they could output 1080p
