No, I haven't tried it but it looks promising. Just yesterday I received the Marantz PMD661 MkII and today I'm waiting for UPS to pick it back up. The noise floor on this thing' was so high that I just couldn't live with it. Maybe the Zoom is better so I'll have to consider one. Thanks for posting the info clip.

I have the Zoom H4Next that I have used for on location stuff, man on the street type of interviews, but when it comes to the H6 it looks pretty damn cool. The H4N records great sound even in noisy conditions, and that's without using XLR mics.

Sounds good Brad,
I've been looking high and low for a 'good' recorder so the TASCAM line is next. Unfortunately, most everything on the market right now seems markedly out-of-date and due for a refresh.

I have used the Tascam DR-40 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NACC6M/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B005NACC6M&linkCode=as2&tag=thgufrquponet-20) . Works great for remote recording. I have never had the need to record the audio to an external devices in the studio

Sorry Andrew but I'm a bit confused by your second sentence. Don't mind me, I take prescription drugs.

Just picked up a "sorta" new H4N off of eBay for $140 plus shipping. I was looking at the H6 but couldn't justify ~400 bucks. So the H4n seems like a good deal...probably dropped in price due to the H6 being introduced.

Nice move Al,
I never run across good deals like this. However, I occasionally receive items new with shipping damage and I subsequently receive a discount(s) from that, provided they are not totally trashed. Just received a nice one from Amazon of 25-percent on an item of 500+ bucks! :p

That's what I do a lot, I look for the "blemished" products that still carry the full manufacturer warranty.

Finally the question has been answered. Multi-track interface and recording on software is possible on the H6.

Still no easy way of doing a mix/minus with this.
