Hi,

I've just bought my own *.com domain and now I'm busy creating accounts on Google, Twitter, YouTube, ...

I'm fairly new to Google Plus (it seems people in Belgium don't use it as much as in the US...) but want to give it a try.

I've one problem and that's I cannot change my name to my "professional name" like GFQ Network did for instance. Is it something you cannot do as an individual? I googled it and it seems you'll need a certain amount of followers, cover picture, ... Is this correct?

You need to create a "Page" for your network or Podcast name. Have you tried making that?

Sorry Andrew but what do you mean by that?

When I'm looking now at my Google Plus account, the url is: https://plus.google.com/111017413999917878073

You can click to change your name but when I put "Flanders TV" it's not accepted. When I go to your Google Plus, the URL is https://plus.google.com/+Gfqnetwork and I see GFQ network as your name.

Thanks anyway for your help!

In google plus there is a section to create a page for a business or product. You are able to access this when you create your personal account Here is a link http://www.google.com/+/business/

Thank you very much for this Andrew. I didn't know this. Thankfully I can go to sleep now with a positive feeling :)

Google is trying to get people to use their real names which is why they are steering businesses to create pages the way Andrew describes.
