I have noticed there are a bunch of services out there that will review your podcast for you. Is this important ? Does it help you with ranking your podcast?

Yes it helps your ranking a bit, but of course Apple doesn't tell us how much.

Yes It seems to be pretty important now. I remember reading that iTunes recently changed the way ranking works and positive reviews have a lot to do with it.
