I am looking for an app that will allow me to record my podcast on my Android phone. I am also looking for some sort of interface that will allow me to connect my microphone to my phone. Anyone out there doing this or know any product that will ?

Take a look at this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudiorecorderpro&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5le HRyZWFtc2QudXNiYXVkaW9yZWNvcmRlcnBybyJd

I have used bossjock on iOS but am not sure if it is available on Android yet. I have heard rumblings about it on android but never heard it was available.

Sorry Tommy, but IMHO apps is where Android falls short. That said, IOS devices will work quite well for this. My recommendation would be for you to get a used iPad 3 or older. The reason is the 30 Pin connector. Then get the Camera Connection Kit for the iPad. Now I'm going to get a little crazy with the following, but you can use the following apps to run a complete LIVE podcast with your iPad using an audio interface and iOS apps.

For starters the mixing app you'll need is called Auria. (http://auriaapp.com/)This is an unbelievable daw that will mix live shows with unintelligible latency... that's right, no latency, which is usually the noticeable delay in audio output, when monitoring source audio i.e. your mic, guest mic, etc., coming from the output side of your daw. Here is a video that will prove my point regarding no latency with this scenario:

Also, on their site is a list of all audio interfaces that will work with Auria. So, decide which audio interface you get from this list. Additionally, with the multi-channel audio interface, you can bring in multiple mics, phone devices, instruments, midi, etc.

Next, another app that you can use to bus in other sources like soundcarts is called Audiobus (http://audiob.us/), which also works with Auria. In addition, the best (and most fun) soundcart I have found for iPads, iPhones, iPods is Bossjock Studio (http://bossjockstudio.com/), which also works with Audiobus.

A great source for additional devices made to work with iDevices can be found at IKMultimedia. (http://www.ikmultimedia.com/teaser_20130905_irigpro.php) They've got tons of awesome toys that you can use for mobile recording or podcasting on the fly.

Finally, I always recommend that ANYONE go to Lynda.com (http://www.lynda.com/) for their extensive list of tutorials on ALL things Podcasting, Audio, Video, Software, Wordpress, etc... They even have a complete tutorial on how to connect and use everything I have listed on this post called "iPad Music Production With Auria" (http://www.lynda.com/course20/Auria-tutorials/iPad-Music-Production-Auria/111698-2.html) Of course you've got to set up a NON-Contract account with them to view the complete course. Their basic plan, which is what I use is $25/month, but you can cancel at any time with no penalties.

I am so thankfull for sites like ibroadcastnetwork.org and the awesome people in this forum. You'll find lots of great advice from many here. I wish you luck with your podcast, along with fair seas and following winds in your quest for greatness! Just remember, the secret to your success is hidden in your daily routine.
